Five Step Simple SkinCare Tips For Your Glow Up

I am a dermatologist and I can give you a wonderful fifteen step skincare routine.

Did I lose you after fifteen?

That’s ok you don’t need that!

So if you’re searching for tips on how to build an effective skin-care routine that won’t consume a lot of time, I am sharing my simple, five-step system that can fit into even the busiest of schedules!

The Essential Skin-Care Routine

The goal is results driven skin-care with a few key steps.

I want you to have healthy glowing skin. It is possible.

Here is my five step plan.

Step 1: Cleanse

Always even after a long day at work or being stressed. Put down your makeup remover wipes forget about doing a double or triple cleanse. Instead, reach for a single product.

I love hydrating cleansers: look for words like gentle, PH balanced, and hydrating stay away from words like: sodium lauryl sulfate. That is too harsh for the skin.

Step 2: Moisturize (and Protect!)

During the day use a multitasking moisturizer that’s formulated with broad-spectrum SPF, which covers both UVA and UVB , not only will you be hydrating your skin, but you will also help protect yourself from harmful UV rays, both of which are great for fighting premature signs of aging. If you are acne prone use one that won't clog your pores (non-comedogenic).

Cream helps to replenish the skin with moisture. Be sure to pick quality ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid which protect your skin barrier.

Step 3: Eye Cream

The skin surrounding your eye contour is thinner and much more delicate than that found on the rest of your face, so it needs its own cream. Your under-eye area is also one of the first to show signs of aging so you’ll want to give it a little extra attention.

Step 4: Lip Care

Another area of skin that’s thinner and more delicate than the rest is the skin found on your lips. Having a lip-care product is key if you want your lips to look and feel soft and supple.

Step 5: Head-to-Toe Hydration

Don’t forget the skin on your body. After showering, you should layer on a body lotion or cream to help keep your skin feeling soft and hydrated from head to toe. Try a barrier-reinforcing moisturizer formulated with hyaluronic acid and ceramide creams.

There you have it! Five simple steps from your board certified dermatologist to keep your skin well hydrated, beautiful, and healthy! #HoushmandHealthy
